Survey from Sara

Sara:

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF:

» I died from natural causes:
Cry? I dunno, it’d hurt like a motha’… It’d probably kill me.

» I said I liked you:
Smile that smirk of mine because I like you, too.

» I kissed you:
Kiss you back, of course!

» I lived next door to you:
We practically do/did, right? lol

» I started smoking:
I’d hate it and I’d probably not want to kiss you anymore. =\

» I stole something:
*shrug* You’re a cunning, sexy pirate, anyway. ;p

» I was hospitalized:
I’d rush to your bedside and tend to your aches and pains…

» I ran away from home:
I’d give you a place to stay and feel safe from everything that bothers you.

» I got into a fight and you weren’t there:
I’d do my best to console you or maybe even try to go see you and give you a hug and make you feel better about it all.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MY:

» Personality:
Kick ass and yet, totally sweet. I mean, I can’t really explain it besides that. You’ve got conviction and I love it.

» Eyes:
They’re green! I love them, they’re so soft-looking, sweet, and dreamy.

» Face:
You’re more beautiful than you think you are… I love your face and I love your smile…

» Hair:
I love your long hair… It’s so soft and beautiful…

» Family:
They’re weird and you’ve got your drama and ironically it’s almost just like mine. Except they’re white. ;p

WOULD YOU:

» Be my friend?:
Aren’t I already?

» Keep a secret if I told you one?:
Uh, yeah? lol

» Hold my hand?:
Don’t I do this already? Whenever I get the chance, I do…

» Take a bullet for me?:
For you, I would… Honestly, I would.

» Keep in touch?:
Who am I talking to and who am I writing this for right now? ;p

» Try and solve my problems?:
Your problems are my problems, dear. I can’t bear the thought of you sad or discontent.

» Love me?:
Um… Hello?

» Date me?:
No, of course not. (Just kidding! lol, come on, we’ve been going out for almost 6 months now?)

HAVE YOU EVER:

» Lied to make me feel better?:
I can’t remember, but I’m sure I’ve done it once or twice.

» Wanted to kiss me?:
All the time.

» Wanted to kill me?:
Never.

» Broke my heart?:
Have I? I think I did once or twice, and for that I wholeheartedly apologize…

» Kept something important from me?:
I don’t think so…

» Thought I was unbearably annoying?:
No way.

The only thing to go through my head reading that was “O RLY?”

Thank you, Captain Obvious. As if the cloud line and strong wind isn’t already a sign for those living there.

ASTROWNED

One Strike

One strike away from the Astros being in the World Series, and Eckstein comes up with a nice base hit, Edmonds gets walked, and Pujols hits a MASSIVE home run right over the Crawford Boxes. That’s how the Cardinals hit. None of that lame-ass 315ft homer stuff. Pujols went deep.

From the Cardinals website:

Today in Cardinals postseason history: On Oct. 17, 2004, the Cardinals suffered a memorable and gut-wrenching loss at Minute Maid Park. With the score tied, 5-5, going into the seventh inning, Julian Tavarez permitted a solo home run to Carlos Beltran that was the deciding hit in a 6-5 defeat to the Astros. Tavarez lost his cool, assaulting the phone in the St. Louis dugout after coming out of the game.

I wonder if “Lights Out” Lidge punched out his phone. heh.

Happy Birthday Astros

Albert Pujols

Sometime between 10:36:48 and 10:37:19 last night, the entire dorm hall exploded into cheers.

Damn, I wore my Mizzou hat (which I don’t wear much,) on Saturday for the Homecoming game. Wore it to watch the Cards tonight. I’m being superstitious, but two amazing come from behind victories… Hey, it’s a pretty good hat, heh. We’ll see Wednesday.

Time’s Eye

Exerpt from an e-mail I sent Sara:

It’s 1am and I have German in the morning at 9am, heh. What was I doing? Eh, reading a book. (Gosh, it feels good to get caught up in a novel.) Started reading “Time’s Eye” by Arthur C. Clarke (2001: A Space Odyssey) and Stephen Baxter and got 70 pages in, in my first sitting, heh. Pretty interesting, it’s about something really screwed up happening to space and time and how different eras in one part of the world are suddenly co-existing. (Pakistan/Afghanistan/India is the location, and the people are from 2037, 1880, and a few million years ago BC) And I dunno. It’s Arthur C. Clarke, and he’s one of the most renowned science fiction authors still alive, so I thought I’d give it a shot. (Was in the mood for something military or science fiction, because I tend to read through those fast. I’ll definitely do Frankenstein next, lol.)

Was in the mood for something military or science fiction, because I tend to read through those fast.

Yeah. I finished this morning, just a bit shy of two days after buying it. (It’s about 370 pages. Two days. Haven’t read a book that fast since junior high, heh.)

Quite a good book, especially if you like a story from multiple angles/multiple places that converges in the end. It’s not hard science fiction (crazy scientific terms and shit), but rather more of a combination of a war story with science fiction here and there and some overall meanings on human nature. I’d definitely read it before reading any real critical reviews, because it’s pretty good.

At least for me, I really didn’t like putting it down because I felt I could and should keep going, to get a little closer to finishing it. Was quite enthralling. Haven’t gotten that into a book in a long time.

Anyway. A full review should come soon.

And (if you notice the “currently reading” thing,) I already have acquired Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for my next reading, heh.
