Strike

Outside of work purposes and a daily e-mail check, I’m going to be off the internet (and also avoiding TV) for about a week.

If you need to contact me, call my cell or catch me on AIM while I’m at work (10am-ish to 5pm).

Wondering why?

Trailer Preview

For the couple people that read my blog and don’t see my Facebook or read Adams’ blog:

It’s the trailer for a trailer, as obnoxious as that sounds.

You know, something to follow the 2006 edition.

Welcome Home, Shinji

For some that have been bothering me to tell them stories or write up a post-vacation summary (Holly, dear, this means you), I can’t really be sure if it’s worth the time or effort. Naturally, I saw plenty and went places, but a lot my vacation isn’t necessarily story-worthy. (Caveat: my black and white photos aren’t developed yet, so I reserve the right to post a summary story in photos.) There were a lot of things that won’t really make sense if you weren’t there, and I’ve told a few people that for the most part, the specifics aren’t really spectacular–we sat around, we walked and wandered around (walking several miles in the dead of the night to get Cold Stone is amazing), we started some fires, etc.

Yeah, a lot of it is run-of-the-mill hanging out. But I suppose it’s what I needed from this vacation. Remembering that fun can be had simply walking around town; or driving with some friends to a small town twenty minutes away to get supplies for a project–was a bit of an epiphany for me. I’d forgotten how much I’d loved clean and simple fun like that. Something simple, yet out of the ordinary. Completely refreshing.

It’s good to be back, though. Had a pretty good return weekend with a little get together, an awesome concert (with a $95 bar tab because I wasn’t so much belligerent as generous), and a couple of town-wandering afternoons. Not to mention spending part of an evening sitting in a tree.

The trip was just what I needed. I’m definitely back and ready to go out and enjoy the rest of my summer.
