After The Boys of Summer Have Gone

Damn.

Approximately 1800 miles in four days. That’s one-thousand eight-hundred miles in less than 96 hours.

Four days to skip town–no, skip the country–and try to give ourselves space to figure ourselves out, I suppose.

My parents may get divorced now, but we’ll see what happens. I think everyone stopped being bitter after four days. Hell, there’s even hope that my dad’s going to stop being such a selfish bastard all the time; maybe it finally got through to him how we feel about him? He seemed sincere last night and today–first time I’ve seen him like that since maybe I was a kid.

But the mileage doesn’t stop there.

Tomorrow is my last trip for a long while. A trip to Columbia, to my own place of residence, to my own life. To The Maneater, to school, to working, to my future.

…Heh, I always loved how corny the “personal” blog posts sounded.
